Questions

  • Yes, children can continue to wear the previous school uniform items which you may already have. When buying new items, look for the new logo.

  • Our uniform policy is gender neutral. Families may choose any options from this guide, regardless of how shops label them.

  • Learning is active! In choosing uniform, especially shoes, please consider first your child’s comfort and ability to move and play. Pick supportive, flat shoes which stay firmly on your child’s feet when they run. Heels, flip flops, sliders etc are not appropriate due to safety.

Choosing clothes with fastenings children can do themselves such as velcro shoes or pull on trousers helps with independence. Consider the season - you can choose shorts or summer dresses in hot weather, and add warm underlayers in winter. Accessories such as sun hats or warm gloves for outdoors are recommended when the weather requires it.

  • We expect families to support pupils to do their best to wear uniform to school each day. In the event that a child does not have the correct uniform at school, we may lend spare items or may contact parents to find out why or to rectify this, particularly if it’s an ongoing issue. We will not sanction pupils for having incorrect uniform.

Please get in touch with us if issues arise affecting your child’s uniform.

  • We understand that the costs of school uniform are a concern to many. We have kept this in mind in planning our uniform, with only one compulsory ‘branded’ item (jumper/cardigan). We have calculated that fully kitting out one child with two sets of uniform and a PE kit can be done for under £50.

If your family is struggling with the cost of uniform, please get in touch with school.

  • We recognise that some children have special needs, disabilities or injuries which may require a reasonable adjustments of uniform, for example a collar-less shirt, an orthotic shoe, or a loose top due to a broken arm. This would be considered on an individual basis so please contact us to discuss your child’s needs if this applies.

Many parents find shopping around, choosing items such as soft jersey trousers and cutting out labels that might irritate can help with comfort, as with any clothing.
